EWSN 2012 is hosted in the Aula Magna of the "Polo Tecnologico Ferrari", a recently-built complex of the University of Trento that also hosts the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI). This venue is located in Povo, a small town on the hills surrounding Trento. The poster and demo session will be held across the street, in the premises of Trento RISE. Trento RISE is a single organization body that connects several of the major actors in ICT research, education and business in the Trento region, including, among others, the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) and the University of Trento. Trento RISE is part of the EIT ICT Labs.
How to reach the conference location
During the conference days, a dedicated free shuttle service will connect downtown Trento with the conference venue. The shuttle will depart from Piazza Dante (Palazzo Regione, across the square opposite to the train station) according to the following schedule:
February 15: 8:00, 8:30
February 15: 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30
February 16: 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, 8:45
February 17: 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, 8:45
On Friday, February 17, a dedicated free shuttle service will connect the conference venue with downtown Trento. The shuttle will depart according to the following schedule:
February 17: 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30
In any case, the conference venue can be reached using the local bus service.
Bus number 5: this is generally the quickest option, it takes about 15 minutes from the railway station. Board at the Piazza Dante-Stazione FS or Piazza Venezia. We recommend to take bus number 5 towards Povo-IRST and get off at Povo-IRST. You can also take bus number 5 towards Oltrecastello and get off at Povo-Facolta di Scienze (immediately after the "Povo" sign after passing a round-about).
Bus number 13: it could take much more time on this bus if you come from the city center, but it might be useful if you are in the southern area of the city. Get off at the Povo - Piazza Manci stop and walk down the hill to get to the conference venue.
Timetables and itineraries are available here and also listed at the bus stops. Tickets must be purchased at a tobacconist or a newspaper shop before boarding the bus.
If you bring a private car, there are two parking options, as shown on the map below. Directing a GPS to "Via Sommarive 18, Povo" should direct you approximately to the bus stop. To access the smaller lot, drive into the FBK site (behind a blue gate) and pull over to the right of the access bar, parking temporarily in front of the small guard building. Go inside, and ask to access the parking for EWSN. Space permitting, the guard will indicate a ramp leading up to the small parking lot. The larger parking lot has free access down a small access road.
Internet access
Wireless access will be available on the conference venue. Delegates with an eduroam account can use it directly. Otherwise, delegates can request a temporary wireless account at the registration desk.
